January is “Myths vs Facts” Month
A big reason we started CPAM Parents was to push back on the misinformation that floats around about congenital lung malformations. A lot of what you’ll find online is outdated, misleading, or skewed toward rare worst-case stories — the ones that stick in your head and keep you up at night, even though they aren’t the typical CLM experience.
And when there isn’t clear, level-headed information, your brain does what brains do: it fills in the blanks, usually with the scariest possible scenario.
So this January we’re doing a Myths vs Facts series: short posts that tackle the most common fears and misconceptions we hear from parents. We’ll be updating our new Myths vs Facts page as we go (find it under the “start here” navigation tab). We think this will become one of the most important pages for parents who land here in those early, shaky days.
What myths should we cover? Tell us what you’ve heard — or what you’re worried about. Shoot us an email at info@cpamparents.org, or reach out on Facebook or Instagram.
