Dr Shaun Kunisaki
Shaun M. Kunisaki, MD, MSc, is a nationally and internationally recognized leader in congenital lung malformation (CLM) management and research. As a medical advisor for CPAM Parents, he brings deep clinical expertise to the review of our educational materials and parent resources. He is a Professor of Surgery at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and directs the Fetal Program at the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center in Baltimore, Maryland. He also leads the American Pediatric Surgical Association Fetal Committee as well as the Congenital Lung Malformation Study Group, a clinical research collaborative spanning over 20 children’s hospitals in the United States. Dr. Kunisaki is an NIH-funded investigator with more than 100 peer-reviewed publications focused on improving outcomes for children with complex congenital conditions.
Dr Marisa Schwab
Marisa Schwab, MD is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatric Surgery at Stanford University and practices at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford. She completed her medical training at Georgetown University School of Medicine, her general surgery residency at UCSF, and a pediatric surgery fellowship at Stanford University. With considerable experience in congenital lung malformations, Dr Schwab helps ensure educational content for CPAM Parents is clear and accurate. Her clinical approach is rooted in compassion, precision, and collaboration, with a focus on helping children and families feel informed, supported, and confident throughout the surgical journey.
